See the Isle of Wight properly — private taxi tours with a driver who knows it

The Needles, Osborne House, Alum Bay, Ventnor — in one day, at your pace, without hiring a car or squeezing onto a bus.

Why a taxi tour makes sense on the island

The Isle of Wight is 23 miles across. It sounds manageable until you realise the roads are single-track in places, parking at the Needles is a nightmare in July, and the bus to Ventnor runs twice an hour. A private taxi tour solves all of that.

You tell us where you want to go, we plan the route, and you get a running commentary from someone who actually grew up here rather than someone reading from a laminated card.

Popular stops

The Needles

The island's most iconic landmark. Chalk stacks and a lighthouse at the western tip.

Alum Bay

Coloured sand cliffs and views across the Solent. Right next to the Needles.

Osborne House

Queen Victoria's seaside retreat near East Cowes. English Heritage managed.

Ventnor

A proper Victorian seaside town cut into the southern cliffs. Worth lingering.

Carisbrooke Castle

Norman castle in the centre of the island, above Newport. Charles I was held here.

Godshill

A quieter village with a 15th-century church. Tourists miss it; locals love it.

A full-day itinerary

A popular full-day tour from Newport or Ryde takes in Carisbrooke Castle in the morning, down to Freshwater Bay and across to Alum Bay and the Needles by midday, then south through Brighstone and into Ventnor for lunch. In the afternoon, Osborne House near East Cowes — Queen Victoria's favourite residence — before heading back along the north coast.

We can adjust for what interests you: the coastal path stops, the village pubs, the less-visited spots like Godshill or Bonchurch that most tourists miss entirely.
